While playing some of the coolest indie music from all over the planet, D also gets to have some interesting conversations about the music industry with fantastic people from all sides of the business. After getting "airchecked" herself by her program director for quality, a lightbulb went off. Why not aircheck the industry?
In this episode, D chats with award-winning, Robert Scovill to get his take on the industry coming up for the sound side of the business. "Robert is a 35+ year veteran of professional concert sound and recording and has mixed over 3500 events in his career, having been enlisted by acts including Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Matchbox Twenty, Jackson Browne, Rush, Def Leppard, Prince and many others. Scovill’s body of live sound and recording work has earned him well-deserved industry accolades including 6 TEC Awards for technical and creative achievement in sound reinforcement. Robert is a 4 time nominee, two time winner of the PLSN Parnelli Award for live sound engineer of the year and has been a multi-year nominee for Mobile Production’s “Top Dog” Award along with being an inaugural nominee for the highly coveted Pensado Award for live sound excellence. As the owner of Eldon’s Boy Productions Inc. and MusiCanvas Recorders in Scottsdale, AZ, he offers full service mixing facility and mobile recording services.Robert is also a highly sought after consultant advising artists, sound companies and the house of worship market on everything from technology, workflows and acoustics for their companies and events. As an educator, Robert has lectured throughout the world on concert sound and recording practices at seminars and trade shows, and is a regular contributor to numerous industry publications, blog sites and YouTube video series. Have you checked out High Vol Music's band Babylon Shakes out central Virginia? Influenced by bands like Aerosmith, Hanoi Rocks, New York Dolls, Child's Play and Faster Pussycat, it's Rock-n-Roll glam and sleaze at it's finest. "Armed with infectious songs and gypsy street fashion, these veteran musicians are shaking things up in the mid Atlantic and the rest of the world is up next."
Babylon Shakes have just dropped their album Exile to the Velveteen Lounge and checked in with D for a live phone interview this past Saturday (Feb. 2nd) to talk about their brand new release, the brotherhood they have found within each other and entertaining the masses with their love for the music by having a great time.

When they were first introduced, she thought he was just a drummer and he probably thought she was just an on-air jock. Since then, they have gotten to know each other a little better. Now they find themselves randomly checking in with the other to see what's going on.
In this first episode...Rob Youells (Musician/ Actor/ Writer/ IFBB Pro Bodybuilder) calls in live and catches up with Dianna during Radio Memphis Around the World this past Saturday (January 26th) after leaving Anaheim, CA from the NAMM show and landing in Dallas, TX for a couple of days to work on a special project in a recording facility disguised as a barn. Before going out for the evening to catch up with his friends in Soulfly, Rob and D have a conversation about some of the things that he is getting into and they wind up talking to each other about life choices, people's perceptions, why you should surround yourself with positive people and more. D even looses her normal composure as a radio pro and begins to stutter.
As time progresses on...not only do they share fantastic tips and advice about the entertainment business, Rob and D share more and more of how the industry and their environments impact their personal lives and they wind up talking about life on air.

Have you checked out alternative rock band Press to MECO out of the U.K.? They are Radio Memphis Around the World's "Artist of the Month" for January 2019.
The band caught up with D during her show live on the air via Google Hangout this past Saturday (January 26th). So in this particular episode, Ric decides to crash in on Dianna during her Around The World show to talk about the music business through his view from the radio side of the industry. With his 35+ years in the business (having been in media, tv, film, a producer and an on the air jock with terrestrial radio and even now the program director and owner of Pirate Radio Studios, Inc.), Ric begins an interesting conversation with Dianna. Not only do they learn even more about each other after working together for almost 8 years, they both find out where each personally stands in the business.
