Rob Dukes - Road Crew Radio - Memphis Metal Mondays
Friday Aug 11, 2017
Friday Aug 11, 2017
We got a phone call from Phoenix, Arizona on July 31st during Memphis Metal Mondays from Rob Dukes.
As the current frontman for Thrash/Crossover band Generation Kill, sharing the lead with Hip Hop legend Darryl DMC McDaniels in Fragile Mortals and being well known as the former vocalist of metal legends Exodus during a very integral part of that band's career, Rob Dukes has shared the world's stages with some of the greatest bands and artists of all time.
What you may not know about Rob, before all of that came along, he left a band that he was part of in New York and rode his motorcycle on a 5-month, 11,000 mile trip to California having absolutely no idea of what he was going to do and though he was considering working as a scuba diving instructor, Dukes ended up working as a guitar tech after getting to Hollywood. You really won't believe what venues he has jumped into and whose buses he showed up on and who he has worked for as part of their road crew.

Darryl (RunDMC) McDaniels - Radio Memphis Around the World - RMOD
Monday Aug 07, 2017
Monday Aug 07, 2017
Darryl McDaniels or “DMC” as most of the world knows him, first made his start in the music business as one third of the groundbreaking rap group Run-DMC and quickly became the most popular in terms of fans and influence. He has been in the public eye for the past 20 years, since forming the now legendary, defunct group, RUN-D.M.C with Joseph (Rev. Run) Simmons and the late, great Jason (Jam Master Jay) Mizell. Also one of the founding members of this multi-platinum music group, selling over 30 million singles and albums worldwide, it would be hard to overstate his influence on popular culture. He helped transform Rap and Hip Hop into the most popular music in the world, while building a fan base that rivals the biggest acts in Rock ‘n’ Roll. As the first and greatest of Hip Hop’s superstars, Run-DMC succeeded beyond anyone’s wildest dreams – their own included – by embodying for the world endlessly creative subculture of young black New York. They were the first rappers to earn a gold album, the first to earn a platinum album, the first to go multi-platinum, the first to have their videos played on MTV, the first to appear on American Bandstand and Saturday Night Live, and the first rap band to grace the cover of Rolling Stone and Spin. www.rundmc.com

Dan has worked in most of the world’s major venues from stadiums to convention centers to hotels and resorts.
As a Technical Director. Dan’s experience includes large-scale projects for IBM, M&M Mars, BMC Software, J.D. But what you may not realize is that Dan Stevenson is definitely an alumni of the rock & roll business having worked with Alice Cooper, Julio Iglesias, Stone Temple Pilots, and Blondie just to name a few including a stint serving as tour manager for Ringo Starr in 2008.
